To provide clarification, practice and review of simple present tense and affirmative and negative forms of this tense in the context of live, work, study.
To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of live,work and study
Procedure (45-59 minutes)
The picture of a family is shown on the projector to the students. Students try to guess who are they.
The same picture is again shown by the projector but this time there is a text nearby.The teacher wants the Ss to help her underline the verbs which are in Simple Present tense. Teacher and the students discuss about the verbs.
Teacher starts to talk about the Present Simple, which is shown on the board by the projector. Positive and negative forms are both taught. Try to elicit information from students, since they are already familiar to the simple present verbs. Draw a timeline on the board. Handouts are given
Listening,(focusing on pronunciation) Listen and repeat Focusing on M and F (handouts are given, at the same time Ss can see it on the board)Teacher asks some questions to the Ss, to make the M and F clear.
The students are going to fill in the blanks with the positive or negative form of like, have,live,work or study.Then they are going to check as they listen to the audio.The projector will be used, the activity will be done on the board. On the top of the board the verbs are written, which are going to used,
The handouts are given, true or false activity.Then rewrite the sentences in their negative forms.
Teacher wants the students write two true sentences and two false sentences about themselves. Then teacher divides them into pairs, the Ss say their sentences.Partners will check the answers by telling them '-Yes,you're right '-No,you aren't
