The lesson continues with a similar context to the previous lesson. The focus is on Grammar which is drawn from the listening in the previous lesson. some of the grammar might not be new for the Ss. They still need review and plenty of practice.

Main Aims

  • To provide practice and clarification of Countable and Uncountable Nouns in a context

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide speaking practice using countable and uncountable nouns correctly

Procedure

Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • to get students interested in the topic

- Ask students some questions about the items they have in their flats / housed to make a link between the topic and the TL .

Highlighting (8-10 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

-Ss will fill in gaps using "some, any, no" - monitor to diagnose the areas they need to focus on and record any errors for later clarification.

Teach / Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

- Students will be given a guided discovery worksheet - Answer the concept checking questions to work out the meaning and form for themselves. -Monitor to help as needed - Share their answers -General FB

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

- Students will be doing another activity to check their understanding of the TL. -Monitor for help - Check their answers -General FB

Free practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

-students will be given pictures to find the differences - Model the activity by giving examples. - they will be encouraged to ask and answer questions -Monitor and take notes of errors with TL -General FB. -integrate some delayed errors if possible.
