To provide gist reading practice using a text about home decoration in the context of how to "stage" a house
To provide detailed reading practice using a text about Miller Family in the context of selling their home
To provide clarification of vocabulary for the second reading
Procedure (45-55 minutes)
-T greets the Sts. -T shows staged home pictures. She asks students "what are the differences between these pictures". Sts give answers. -T gives the vocab "staged home" and asks students what could that mean.
- T shows the Worksheet. T explains look at the questions and choose the correct synonym for the word. -T pairs the Sts. - T gives Sts the Worksheet 1. T gives 10 minutes for the exercise. - T gives the answer key with example sentences.
- T says "Now we are going to read an article about house staging and how it works." - T tells Sts read the article alone. - After sts finishes T to Sts "Look at the questions on exercise D, page 47. Read the questions and answer the questions alone." - Sts answer the questions. - T pair check. - T asks WC for the answers. WC check the answers.
- T puts sts in groups. - T says the Sts will answer the questions on page 48, exercise E. - T shows the answers on the board. Sts check their answers.
- T tells Sts to close their books. - T tells Sts with their group they will write tips on "how to stage a house" - T tells students to scan the QR code. - Sts start writing on Padlet. - Sts vote the best one. - T gives feedback on Padlet. (grammar)
