Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Teacher shows two pictures of a lady. Teacher asks students to tell the difference. Teacher writes answers on whiteboard using used to.

Exposure (5-8 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through speaking.

Teacher asks students to talk about themselves by using used to.

Clarification (15-20 minutes) • To clarify the target language

Teacher teaches/revises the subject and does error correction that she's noted in the previous stage.

Semi-controlled Practice (5-7 minutes) • To check students' understanding and using the subject in spoken production.

Teacher asks students to ask questions about herself. Teacher checks understanding and does error correction if needed.
