Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Talk about my daily routine. Project images of daily routine scenes to provide context.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Clarify Present Simple Form: + I eat breakfast. Subject + verb + complement. Elicit negative and interrogative forms and explain the use of DO for these forms. Elicit action verbs that we use daily: eat drink brush teeth exercise take a shower. Introduce time frames: in the morning, afternoon, evening, at night. every... day... once, twice... a week. On weekends. CCQs: Is a routine something you do only on Mondays? Is a routine something you do every single day? Do you go to school or follow the same routine on Sundays? Is your routine on weekdays different from your routine on weekends?

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Ss work in pairs to write 10 sentences about their daily routines. Ss will ask and answer simple questions about other students daily routines.

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice
