Main Aims

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Check the projector and materials to be ready. Ask Ss how they feel today. Project the slideshow Form the pairs clearly. Ask Ss to discuss the question they see on the PPT in pairs. If Ss look confused, teach the meaning of the verb "look after" Nominate two Ss to state their ideas and get feedback

Pre-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

Ask them to pick up a paper and form the groups according to the colors of the paper they picked up. Stick your items on the board. Give them the listing HO. Ask Ss to write the name of the objects they see on be board. After 2 mins, ask Ss to stick the answers under them. Let them check their answers. State that you will teach some other words. Ask Ss to follow the slideshow. Teach the meanings of training manual and trooper with the help of photos and check if they understood the meaning with CCQs on Language Analysis sheet.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

Ask Ss to read the beginning of the article and find answers of two questions they see on the slideshow. Ask Ss to discuss their answers with their partners. While-Reading/Listening #2 (12-15 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

Tell Ss that they are going to listen to two men talking in the park about the book and mark the sentences T or F. If it is false, ask them to correct that sentence. Give some time to check their answers with their pairs. Show the answer key on the PPT give them time to check their answers

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Ask Ss look at the PPT and answer the questions they see. "Do you think it's a good idea to have a book and have a website on childcare especially for men?" Ask Ss to discuss in pairs. Nominate two students and get FB
