Description

In this lesson we will talk about will and shall and how and when to use them properly

Materials

Abc Students Book hand out ,white board

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification and practice of Will and shall for instant responses

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide clarification of Modal verbs
  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a Discussion ,pair work

Procedure

Stage 1 (5-15 minutes) • Language focuse

First I will try to elicit the modal verbs tense then i will introduce the grammar focus They will have a look at the pictures and guess what is it about and then we'll check which person gets what they want in each case

Stage 2 (5-10 minutes) • Language focuse

They will listen again and they'll choose the correct answers

Stage 3 (5-10 minutes) • Grammar

1a)they will try to find two examples of offers 2)they will try to guess which verb forms are used for each 2a)they will look at the other four sentences and try to guess: 1)in which cases has the speaker already decided what to do (2 in which cases is he/she deciding as they speak b) they will try to guess which verb forms are used in each case

Stage 4 (5-10 minutes) • Practice

1)They will work in pairs and look at the situations on page 127 and decide which response they would give and why? 2)we will move on and complete the exercise with shall I, shall we ,I'll,I'm going to 3)they will work in pairs and choose two more situations from page 127 ,they will cat out their conservative for the class
