Description

In this lesson, Students will learn about some vocabulary and practice speaking.

Main Aims

  • By the end of the lesson, the students will be better able to understand and practice the vocabulary in the context of daily routine.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide the students with the opportunity to practice speaking for fluency to use the phrases everyday or writing their own daily routine.

Procedure

Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To engage Ss and create a need for the lesson.

-Show the students a picture on projector and ask them about it and write on the board the answer -make them work in pairs to discuss what is the thing that they can`t pass the day without doing it.

Exposure (7-10 minutes) • To contextualize the target language and expose the students to the positive connotation phrases.

Tell the students that we have an article about the actress "Kari Matchett" but firstly i want you to work in pairs and guess the times the TV actors do these things. and give them the HO (3m). Give them the article to read it and ask them to work in pairs to check the answers(5m).

Clarification (15-20 minutes) • To highlight meaning form and pronunciation of the target language.

-Tell the students that you will clarify some words, phrases and expressions about daily routine. - Start with drawing about the first word (goes off) on the board and make them guess the word - show them a picture on projector about the difference between take or have a shower and a bath -Act like you put on the make up to make them understand what is the meaning of put on make up and guess the word -Show them a picture on projector about (iron the shirt) and make them guess the word - tell them that the next expression means the same as (wear the cloths) and make them guess - Show them pictures for words like (make the bed - work over time - buy groceries - check your Email) - Make an example to make them guess the phrase (take out the trash)

Controlled Practice (7-10 minutes) • To assess students understanding of meaning,form and pronunciation and provide a scaffolding stage for the freer practice.

-Ask them to answer the task (marking the correct pictures each expression) give them the HO after your instructions,Then ask them to check their answers in pairs (5m) -Ask them to answer the task (write the correct expression under picture) give them the HO after your instructions,Then ask them to check their answers in pairs (5m) -Give them all the expressions and pictures as an answer key to check the answers

Freer Practice (15-20 minutes) • To provide the students the opportunity to use the target language for fluency and making sure the understanding the vocabulary

-Tell them that they will create a story about their daily routine. and everyone will stop and read it.(15m) and if there is time make the students listen to a song with lyrics and tell them to do this at the home to make their fluency better.(3m)
