In this lesson , students will learn about how they can read and choose a title from what they understood,and practice speaking.

Abc projector
Abc pictures

Main Aims

  • By the end of the lesson, students will be better able to read for gist and specific information in the context of Films

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide the students with clarification of difficult vocabulary and practice speaking

Procedure

Lead-in (0-5 minutes) • To engage the students and create a need for the lesson

Write on the board (Films). and ask them what is the favorite film.and put them into pairs and leave them two minutes to talk about the last film they watched.then check the ideas as a class.

Pre-Reading (0-10 minutes) • To generate interest in the text and motivate ss to read it

Open the picture on projector and ask if they know these films and who watched them.Then say that we will know about the person who made these films. then try to explain the difficult words of the article ..open the pictures of the words and explain.

While-Reading 1 (2-3 minutes) • To provide ss with reading for gist practice

ask the student to read the article and give it a title. check the ideas as a class after monitoring.

While-Reading 2 (9-10 minutes) • To provide ss with reading for details and vocabulary practice

Ask students to read the article again to answer the task and give them the HO. ask them to Work in pair to check the answers with each others then make them check their answers by the answer key. Answer: c-b-c-c Give them the next task and tell them to answer it and it will be about definitions of the difficult words and make them work in pairs to check the answers ..give them the answer key. Answer: d-c-b-a

Post-Reading (9-10 minutes) • To provide ss with speaking practice

Ask them to think as they are the film makers..and give them the HO of it to write what the kind of film(romantic-action-horror-scientific) and who will be the hero ..then make a circle to make an open discussion to talk about their answers.
