  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation and open discussion in the context of travelling and visiting different landmarks.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Show them some pictures on the power point about traveling to different destinations. Then, I will show them few questions on the power point and they will discuss them in pairs. Do you like traveling? Why do people travel? Do you think traveling is expensive or cheap? why? Which one is better for you to travel alone or with family and friends?

Useful Language (3-5 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

I will pre-teach the vocabulary that might be difficult for some students such as nightlife, typical and sightseeing by showing them pictures and giving examples. For example, I will show them a picture of "Koshary" and tell them" this is a typical Egyptian food. Give me more examples." Then, drill the pronunciation and show them the form.

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

I will get them to do the first task which is adding the missing pronouns, articles and verb to be. Then, they will check in pairs and I will give them the answer sheet. Next, they will do the second task which is omitting the extras from the postcard. After that, they will check in groups and I will listen to their feedback and provide them with the answer key. Finally, they will write their own postcards. After that, they will be doing a speaking activity. I will divide them into two groups and I will give them some questions in stips of paper to discuss them in pairs.

Feedback and Error Correction (5-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

They will have a look at each other's postcards and check: If they omitted the pronouns, articles, and verb to be. what was the most interesting thing they have read from the postcards? Then, listen to their feedback.
