Vocabulary for contextual understanding for the reading practice
Procedure (38-46 minutes)
SS will be provided HO of Vocabulary with definitions and pronunciation prior to the reading practice. T tells ss short intro referencing son who is an aviator in the field of aviation. T will show PP of descriptive examples of the vocabulary and drill ss for pronunciation. T will write the vocabulary on WB with the stress marked. T will give 2-3 examples on WB of simple past.
T divides class into two groups, A & B. T tells ss to review the HO (questions - #3) prior to reading the short articles. After reading the articles, the ss cross group and exchange answers to #3 for free speaking.
T provides HO for questions #5 SS reread articles and same group discuss answers.
SS will mingle to share what their particular readings were about, and discuss the information learned (questions in #3 and #5) T monitors and provides FB as necessary.
T arranges seats in semi circle and sits with the ss to go over any FB comprehension problems.
