In This lesson Ss. Will have the opportunity to read and speak about Family member .Ss will answer a questions for gist and questions for details,and they will use the Vocabulary of family member in a variety of activities.

Main Aims

  • Reading:To provide gist in the context of Family Member.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide practice and clarification in the context of Family Member of Vocabulary including (Parents,nephew,niece,cousin,uncle and Aunt)

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

*Projected a picture of a big family try to elicit the different Vocabulary of the family members . *discus the following questions? how many people are there in that family? who>s the oldest one?who is the youngest one? Pick a family member ..describe looks outside and character inside?s is family important to you?what about yours (Ss. discus in pairs)..open discussion then the whole class feedback T elicit the topic from Ss.

Exposure (5-7 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

*project a pictures of a family to try to elicit the relation between the family member like (grandparents,parents, uncle ,aunt ,cousin, niece and nephew , *pass out a HO to check Ss. understanding of the vocabulary . *Ss. check the answers together ,and then whole class feedback *peer correction if necessary.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

Give Simple and clear instruction About the gist reading ask Ss. to Label the pictures with the following words : Pass out the HO and monitor the activity Ss. check the answers together and then the whole class feedback

Clarification (3-5 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Ask Ss. to check the photo and mark true or false EX: 1-Bob is Wendy`s brother ( T ) or ( F) 2-Lucy is Wendy`s sister ( T ) or ( F) 3- Doris is Tom`s Brother ( T ) or ( F) 4- Wendy is Tom`s grandmother ( T ) or ( F) 5-Tom is Lucy`s brother ( T ) or ( F) 6-Ann is Bob~s mother ( T ) or ( F) 7-Bob is Wendy`s father ( T ) or ( F) 8-Bill Is Lucy~s Grandfather ( T ) or ( F)

Controlled Practice (3-4 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Ask Ss. to check the family tree ,,and give clear instruction to answer the questions Ex: 1- What is my cousin`s name? it is ............................. 2-who is my father`s brother ? it`s .................... .He`s your.............. . 3-How many uncle`s do i have? you have .................uncles. 4-Who is my grandmother`s daughter ? it`s ............... .She`s your................... 5-What is my aunt`s husband`s name? it`s .......................................
