Description

In this lesson, student will learn about how to talk about past actions using "while" and "when". This lesson focuses on common chores around the house. Students will learn collocations such as "mop the floor" and "hang out the washing" related to tasks around the house. Students will learn how to talk about different household activities.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Teacher shows student some pictures of household chores then asks the student : What are your most hated chores?

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful vocabulary related to household and the usage of when and while .

Going through the words and explaining the ones she doesn't know using MPF. Student starts to explain the vocabulary herself. Giving examples related to the grammar rule (when/ while) eliciting the meaning and the usage from the student: While I was watching t.v, my phone rang when you called me, I was getting dressed Teacher explains new idiom and phrasal verb

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Teacher starts a discussion with the student about household chores
