Description

In this class, the students will be able to use the vocab related to the topic to express anything related to art. They will also be given handouts about the grammar part which was,were + ing to understand more about its usage and they shall be given a hand-out about a painter to read about art and get to know some information.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (8-10 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage the students regarding the topic

Asking the students about their week and start with the vocab by letting them tell me the meanings of the words and ask them to put them for me in sentences

Exposure (30-40 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

Read the article about Frida Kahlo, answer the questions together quickly and discuss the article. When it comes to the listening part, we shall listen to the song Ed Sheraan - Perfect and fill in the missing words to practice listening.

Useful Language (20-25 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

The clarification of the grammar through giving them examples and answering the worksheet together for best understanding, and giving them the idiom ( sounds like a broken record)/ phrasal verb (stand out) and ask them about their comprehension.

Productive Task(s) (40-50 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

The students shall make a role-play where they will act as if they are at Arab's got talent where some students are going to act as a girl group who shall audition with a song, while there are an other girl group that shall steal their idea for the show, One student will act as a stand up comedy and others shall act as the judges.

Feedback and Error Correction (10-12 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

Recapping everything and giving the words for next time
