Procedure

INTRODUCTION - TALKING ABOUT THE PAST (3-5 minutes) • To introduce them to the topic and set the scene and context of the lesson.

Short Intro which will include visual aids in the form of a past-future timeline. Simple past questions... "Tell me about your last holiday..."

PRE READING LEAD IN (3-5 minutes) • Personalise a topic of discussion

A variety of questions and ask the students to ask their partners relating to the past and past events.

FIRST READING TASK (10-15 minutes) • READING COMPREHENSION

Work sheet 1. Fill in the gaps with the verbs provided using past tenses. Read statements and identify true or false.

Board work - Explaining (5-10 minutes) • Explaining in more depth the past...

Explain on the board with single, repeated and temporary events...
