Present perfect and past simple
To provide clarification, review and practice of present perfect and past simple in the context of 'an argument about money."
To provide accuracy speaking practice in a conversation in the context of "The money questionnaire"
Procedure (31-45 minutes)
I will start the class with: MONEY can't buy happiness, can it? and continue it with a short personal story, asking students to talk about their stories.
- I ask some questions about the picture in 2a. - They guess the answers individualy at first and then in their pairs. - At the end they should listen to the CD and check their answers.
-Highlighting 1 simple past sentence and 1 present perfect sentence from the conversation.( It arrived this morning and we haven't paid the phone bill yet.) -Dividing the board to two sections, one for simple past and one for present perfect. giving the structure of these sentences and their meaning by the help of elicitation.
