To provide practice of vocabulary regarding stereotypes and dependent prepositions in the context of stereotypes
To provide aural recognition of some words
To provide fluency speaking practice in a dicussion in the context of stereotypes
Procedure (44-46 minutes)
The teacher begins the lesson with a question "do you remember your university years?" After having some answers, the teacher plays a little part of a song called "Those were the days" and the teacher explains why he remembers this song.
The teacher shows the picture story about an old friend and elicits the target vocabulary with the help of photos. Then, the teacher gives a handout of the story with some blanks. The teacher reads the story and the ss fills the blanks. The teacher drills the pronunciation of the vocabulary and gives the written record of rhe words.
The teacher plays the audio and the ss fill the blanks. The teacher plays the audio again and checks the answers with the whole class.
The teacher makes pairs and gives the stereotypes for each pair. the ss talk about the stereotypes in pairs. They discuss whether they are truths or stereo types. The teacher gives chance some ss to speak.
The teacher gives a handout and the ss do the matching and then the ss compare their answers in pairs. the students checks the answers with the whole class.
The teacher gives the instruction about the worksheet but doesn't give the worksheets. the ss first listen to the sentences and take notes especially about the prepositions. In the second step, The teacher gives the worksheets and directs the ss on the walls where they are going to find some prepositions to fill the blanks. The teacher checks the answers with the whole class.
