Description

This lesson plan starts with a ''Warm up " related to the topic of the reading which students' mental and emotional dimensions are stimulated. This will be followed by the ''Study part '' including Pre-reading , while-reading and post-reading . This lesson plan is going to conclude in ''Activation part'' .

Procedure

Greeting (2-3 minutes) • Building up rapport

A. Set the scene . B. Greet the class and ask how they feel .

Warm up / Lead in (8-10 minutes) • Sustaining interest and enthusiasm . orienting the class positively toward the lesson . Pre-teaching a few blocking words usuing the students' ideas .

A. arrange the groups . B . write on the board some genres for example comedy , drama , action and thriller . C. Ask the SS to provide and write down 3 examples of Tv programs or films they can think of for the genres in groups . D. Feedback E : Using the students' ideas in order to elicit the blocking words . (To Invent , To Develop ) F : MPF ICQs : -Are you going to talk or write ? -Are you going to do it alone or in groups ? -Are you going to provide some genres or some examples of genres ? -How many examples are you going to provide ? CCQs : -Is electricity an invention ? -Are inventions new or old things ? -Can you develop by studying hard ? - Is America a developed country or not ?

Pre-Reading , Exercise 1 . (5-7 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

A: Set the pairs . B. The SS are going to take a look at Exercise 1 containing 2 Qs and discuss in pair . C. Feedback . ICQs : -Are you going to do it alone or in pairs ? -Are you going to talk or write ?

While-Reading , Exercise 2 . (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging information reading , skimming .

A. The SS are going to skim the passage alone and quickly then decide which of the titles fits best . B. The SS are going to check their answers in pairs . C. Feedback . ICQs : -Are you gonig to skim the text or read it in detail ? -Are you going to do it alone or in pairs ?

While-Reading , Exercise 3 . (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging information reading , Scanning .

A; The SS are going to scan the passage alone and match the information with a number or date in the box . B: the SS are going to check their answers in pairs . C; Feedback . ICQs : -Are you going to skim it or scan it ? -Are you going to do it alone or in pairs ?

Post-Reading (Activation) (8-12 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

A. The SS are going to think for 1 min about their favorite program or movie . B. The SS are going to stand up , mingle and describe their favorites . T starts monitoring . C. Feedback on the content D. Feedback on the language ICQs : -Are you going to write anything ? -Are you going to think about your favorite genre or program/movie ?
