Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Greet students - review the hello and hi contexts Homework: pg. 20 pg. 21 pg. 22

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

Pg. 23 - Go over the numbers first: Then review the spelling of the numbers. Use the handout to check their understanding.

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

Pg. 24 - Have the students read the story in Kurdish. Read the story 2-3 times in English. Have them repeat after you one time. Then have each student read the story in English. Have them write the story in their book. Emphasize punctuation. Have them complete the vocabulary section from Kurdish into English.

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

STORY - Provide each student with a fill-in-the-blank piece of paper. Instruct them to write a story about themselves in the context of time and schedule using the previous story as a model. Expect that there will be some who do not understand completely. Pg. 25 - Section D Part 1 - Have the students read the time while you model it on the board both digitally and analogue. Make sure to explain the quarter til and after. Part 2 - complete the activity. Use handout #1 Use handout #2 Use handout #3

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language
