TP3 of BERNA
Main aim is to enable students learn new vocabulary in the context of seasons and seasonal activities.
To enable students to develop their listening skills by a text about 5 people talking about their free times.
Procedure (35-45 minutes)
-students try to elicit names of seasons from 4 different pictures of trees. -students think about the words about seasons and teacher notes on board. -students will look at the childhood pictures of the teacher and try to guess the story behind the pictures.
-students will do a matching activity (will match different activities with pictures) -students will talk about activities and seasons -students will do lots of lexis pronunciation including words like skiing, windsurfing, cycling and phrases like going to the gym and listening to music.
-students listen the text -teacher demonstrates the first example and after students fill the chart -students check in pairs -teacher shows the answer key -teacher shows the demonstration of few tricky words
-teacher shows an image on the board including the activities skiing, swimming, painting, going to theater, cycling, playing cards, running, watching TV. -students try to predict which one the teacher likes, which one she does not. -students works in groups of 3 or 4 and make a list by using these forms, *I think she likes.... *No, I think she prefers.... -students ask Do you like????? and teacher answers.
-students stand up and ask 2 friend 3 of the questions they choose from the board. (according to the size of the class, activity can change to a pair-work) -teacher asks some of them like, Barış who did you ask? So what she likes? What does she do in her free time?
-teacher gives WCFB -teacher corrects the common errors especially about pronunciation and any grammar errors she faced during the lesson
