(waiting in a queue) Tell them that they will mime doing something at the airport. Ask IcQs: Do you speak? no. Do you mime doing something at home? no, at the airport. Ss are grouped. Ss take turns and mime for the rest of the group and they guess. Elicit, facilities, queue and pet. Modell and drill.

Show the pictures. Ask: How do you think these are connected? Ss speak about it in pairs. Elicit some answers.

While-Reading 1 (3-5 minutes) • For gist, to start with a less challenging reading task.

Put the paragraphs on the walls. Demonstrate the first one for Ss for clarification. Tell them for each paragraph they have about 30-40 seconds. Ss go around the classroom, read the paragraphs in pairs, find the name of the airport and match it with pictures on the board. (Ss take notes) Feedback. Show the names of airports below their picture.

While-Reading 2 (7-9 minutes) • To provide an opportunity for students to find specific information and detail

Tell Ss to read the questions first, then read the text and answer the questions. Remind them to look for key words in the question and then search the text to find it. Provide an example for Ss. 1. Which airports have restaurants, cafes and shops? 2. Which is the best airport for people who like flowers? 3. What can you do at Seoul airport? 4. Where is free coffee and tea at Munich airport? 5. What facilities do you have in your room at Zurich airport? Give Ss the hand-outs. Ss work in groups and answer the questions. Choose one person from each group to go to another group and report. Feedback. Display the answers on the board.

While-Reading 3 (8-10 minutes) • Deducing meaning of vocabulary from context.

Point to the highlighted words in the text. Tell Ss to put their paper upside down. Tell Ss to read the sentences that include the highlighted words and then match the words/phrases with pictures on the board. Do the first one as an example. Ss read the text and match the rest in pairs. Ask individuals to go to the board and match them by drawing a line. Show the answers. Model and drill.

Post-Reading (10-12 minutes) • To provide an opportunity for Ss to do a follow-up task and to encourage speaking for fluency.

Ask: which airport would you like to go to? Elicit some answers. Tell Ss they are going to make their own airport and should choose the facilities their airport will have. Pair Ss by their names on the list. Ss come up with ideas and write the facilities they will have in the form of bullet points, including the prices of using those facilities. Exchange the pieces of paper. Ss read their friends facilities. Ask: will you go to this airport? Monitor and write examples of good language and errors.
