Description

In this lesson SS will learn some new vocabulary, and they will learn how to form some sentences using Present simple for describing someone's daily habits.

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification and practice of the present simple tense form and in the context of daily life habits.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide clarification of some new words describes some items from our real life in the context of daily life habits.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (1-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

The T tells the SS that, he found a bag outside the class room and it's filled with some objects which belongs to someone. The T shows the SS these objects which are ( chocolate - water bottle - Brush - novel ) The T gives each student two items and telling them they should find some characteristics about the owner so they could find him and return the bag to him .

Exposure (3-5 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

After the SS finish discussing about the objects T will elicit some answers by asking them Do you think its a man or a women ? depending on their response the owner is referred to as he/she. T asks the students to tell him something about the owner using the given objects. T elicit the answers from the SS write down them on the board in the form of (Present Simple) *He drinks water. *He eats chocolate. *He uses a hair brush. *He reads novels. T provide clarification of the vocabulary if it is necessary (MFP)

highlighting and clarification (2-4 minutes) • To draw SS attention to the target language of the lesson and to provide clarification of (Meaning - Form - Pronunciation) of the target language.

T draws SS attention to the form of the present simple tense highlighting the final -S in the verbs. T ask the SS is it in the past,future or the present that means its now or every day T reads the sentences and ask the students to repeat after him to check the pronunciation of the words. (MFP)

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

T rubs down the verbs from the board and ask the students to complete them from their memory give the SS feedback on their answers.

Free Practice (3-5 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

T teacher gives each student a sheet of paper T asks the SS to write four sentences describing someone in the room. After SS finish writing they will switch the papers and each one will read his/her college answers and try to guess who is being described. Give the students feedback.
