Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency and accuracy speaking practice in a Making conversation, which will help them speak fluently, between the students, in the context of Using superlatives and the PPT in the context of the game consisting of different questions.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

First, I am going to refer to the previously worked subjects and then tell a story about my experience by using a superlative and the Present Perfect Tense. Later, I am going to give them 1 minute to think about a superlative/the PPT sentence.

Exposure (3-5 minutes) • To provide a model of the task and highlight useful words and phrases

I am going to give each group a game board and write some useful words or phrases on the whiteboard. It is your turn. Whose turn is it? Another go. Bingo!

Task (8-10 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

While playing the games, the students will be forced to use the superlative and the PPT.

Planning (6-8 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to plan students' reports

During the game being played, I am going note errors occurring for remedial work. At the end of the class, I will explain the errors to the learners. Therefore, I will have provided feedback to the learners.

Report (6-8 minutes) • To allow students to report on how they did the task and how it went

I am going to give them 15 seconds to think about how they have done the task and it has gone. And then, I am going to ask them to paraphrase what they remember about the game they have played.

Language Analysis (6-8 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the task language

As the students play the game, I will give them a hand by not interrupting their speaking.

Language Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with practice of the task language

At the end of the lesson, I will provide the learner with a follow-up task attached to the lesson plan prepared.
