Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (4-8 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

-The books are closed. -The teacher writes two questions on the board. -The questions are "Do you think it is good to count calories when you are eating?"and"If you are invited to a lunch with a celebrity and suddenly a fish bone caught in your throat,what would you do?" -The teacher gives students 3 minutes to discuss about the topic in two groups. -The students give their opinions to the class. -The teacher asks the students to guess the topic.

Pre-Reading/Listening (5-10 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

-The teacher tells students to open their books. -The teacher tells them to look at the headlines and then think about both pictures which are in the reading.(questions like where are they? what are they about? ...) -The students make a group and discuss with their partner.Then, they share their opinions.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (12-14 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

-The teacher tells the students to close their books. -The teacher turns on the speaker and play the first reading. -The teacher asks for one volunteer to give a summary to the class. -If everyone refuses to say the summary,the teacher uses a bottle and circulates it on the table. -The teacher tells them to open their books and he writes some definition on the board and the students should guess the words from text. -The students listen again and do part A. The teacher tells the group to come to the board and write their answers.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

-The teacher asks the students to read the second reading. -The students do part C and each group says their opinions. -The teacher reviews of possessive adjectives and tells the student to find them in the second reading.Then answer the question D in 2 minutes. -The teacher writes correct answers on the board. -The teacher tells them to do part F and says their opinions. -The teacher gives them a text about lunchtime and writes the definition of the words and the students should guess the word from the reading. -The teacher tells the students to come to the board.The group that finds the words faster, win at the end and gets the point for the ending game. -The teacher tells them to check in dictionary and read the example of words.

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

-The teacher writes questions from page 103 on the board. -The students form a group and discuss about these questions. -The students share their opinions to the class. -At the end,play BEAT BUZZER.
