Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5-7 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Acknowledge the participants progression and inform them about the next task at hand, .i.e. Part 3. Reiterate on its importance and try eliciting the difference between the earlier parts and this one.

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

If they're not sure then explain it to them, following are the key indicators: - Difference in focus - The need to identify clues in their speaking - The change of tone to identify their attitudes/intention/opinion

While-Reading/Listening #1 (13-15 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

Ask the participants to sit in groups and then distribute the Worksheets to them and give them no more than a minute,to go through it once and understand the questions. Ask them to listen to audio file carefully and jot down important points on a blank sheet. Once the audio file finishes, ask them to start solving the exercised up till exercise 2 gap fill. Give them 5 minutes Once they're done, and ask them to peer check each others work. Feedback: Distribute the answer key and discuss the mistakes and the reason behind them.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (17-20 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

Now ask all the participants to sit individually. Distribute the worksheet 1,2,3 & 4. Instruct them to solve them while they listen to the audio files which you'll be playing. After every sheet discuss the answers using the key and give feedback on the errors made.
