To provide clarification and practice of "have got/has got" in the context of "Big happy families"
To provide review of family-relation words in the context of "Big happy families"
Procedure (34-46 minutes)
I will draw a circle on the board naming it "Family", students will come to the board and write what comes to their mind related to family. Then we will discuss the pic from the handout.
Students in pairs will read two texts and complete the tasks based on them. They will group two families.
Students will underline have got/has got in the text. I will highlight them on the board.
I will elicit the meaning of "have got/has got" from the students. I will also write the negative and question form of them.
Students will complete tasks to fix the grammar rule.
Students will ask questions to each other using have got/has got.
