In this lesson, ss will have a deeper understanding concerning the difference between the present perfect simple and the present perfect continuous. Test Teach Test is going to be applied.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I tell things about myself concerning my birthday to make the use of present perfect continuous more salient. -On my 15th birthday, my parents bought me a violin and I started playing the violin since I was 15 and I still play the violin so I have been playing the violin since I was 15. Ask the questions to ss to elicit this kind of answers above.

Test #1 (8-10 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

Teach (15-20 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

Hand out for setting the rules. CCQs (on LA). Timelines. CCQs for Present Perfect Simple: Did something happen in the past?(Yes) Is there a result in the present? (Yes) CCQs for Present Perfect Cont. Do we know when the activity started? (Yes) Is the action still continuing? (Yes) What are we interested in? (The duration of the activity) CCQs for Present Perfect Cont.2nd slide Does the car now work? (Maybe yes, maybe no, we don't know) Is the man repairing the car now? Free practice (13-15 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Ss are shown pictures and try to form a sentence in relation to these pictures by using present perfect continuous.
