Description

In this lesson, students learn new vocabulary about clothes . the lesson startrs with a discusson about shopping . this is followed by multiple images of clothes to test the students' knowledge .Then students are asked to do a puzzle about clothes followed by an other controlled activity. Finally there is a free practice through a role-play speaking activity.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Ask ss what did they do in the week-end. tell them a personalised story : "I went shopping with my best friends in the week-end. I took advantage of the sales period and i baught new clothes. " so , do you love shopping ? Our lesson today is a fun one; it's about clothes .

Pre-teaching vocabulary (3-5 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

Display on power point several pictures of different clothes and try to elicit from ss . Drilling when necessary . Write the new words on the board .Highlight the stress.

Focus on TL (10-10 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

Ss are asked to do a puzzle and cercle the vocabulary of clothes and accessories . group work (each group has a different puzzle with different words ) Each group is asked to identify 16 words. The group who finishes first is the winner. Check instructions (ICQs) Demonstrate the first example Ask ss to stand up and check the the answers of the other group 'Describe your classmate' : Ask ss to choose one of their colleagues without saying who and describe what he/she is wearing and ask a partner to guess who.
