Procedure (63-90 minutes)
Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To tell about the communicative approach
Show slide #1
Test #1 (10-15 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language
Check Ex. 5-10
Teach (10-15 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage
p. 46 - Gerund
Test #2 (15-20 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test
Ex. 11 - in pairs. Show demo on the board. Ex. 12 (13) - individually, check in pairs, check OC.
Free practice (15-20 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language
Ss discuss the questions on slide #1, (2), (3) in pairs and have to find things in common. Check OC after each slide.
Flexi stage (10-15 minutes) • To provide Ss with further speaking practice
