Procedure

Lead-in (4-7 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Tell about the communicative approach. Questions and answers. How are you? What did you do in July?

Warm-up (3-5 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

Look at the pictures and discuss what is happening in pairs. OC.

Pre-teach (3-4 minutes) • To teach blocking vocabulary

What tense do we use to talk about things that will happen 100%? Present Continuous. fix a meeting (choose the time for a meeting) let you know (syn. inform you) can't make it (I cannot come)

Listening #1 (6-8 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

Listen and answer the questions in pairs. OC.

Listening #2 (6-10 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference listening tasks

Listen and fill in the gaps. Check in pairs. OC.

Listening #3 (5-7 minutes) • To provide with further listening practice

Look through the questions. Listen and answer. Check in pairs. OC.

Post-Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Ss go around the class and invite each other. Remember about the partner. Show slide #3 and demo. Cut out the cards. OC feedback.

Grammar (15-20 minutes) • To develop understanding of future forms

Check p. 65, 67.

Freer practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide Ss with freer practice at using TL

Communicative - in pairs. Remember about your partner. Check OC. Cut out the cards for pairs.

Flexi stage (9-9 minutes) • To provide Ss with further speaking practice
