Description

In this lesson students will learn and practise vocabulary related to work. They will express their preferences and enact a job interview.

Main Aims

  • To provide practice of work lexis in the context of emloyment

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a roleplay in the context of work

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5-7 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T asks a student to come to the board pick a piece of paper stick it on the teacher's back without telling the word to the teacher . The latter will turn , show the Ss the word then asks them different questions to find out the word T sticks words on the Ss back , they will do the same thing with their mates to find out the job. Ss then asks what common thing have the words ss elicit job / work etc.. the teacher then asks the ss to choose the jobs they would like to do the most and the one they would like to do the least and why and discuss with a partner

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

To show students few situations and pictures on the board let them think and elicit vocabulary to introduce target language

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

To check Ss understanding through CCQ's Focus pronunciation and word stress make them drill

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

ask students to do exercise 9 of the workbook

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

to ask the students to enact a role play : interviewer and interviewee
