Description

In this lesson, SS will check passive voices in Sİmple Present tense, Present Continuous Tense, Simple Past Tense, Past Continuous Tense, Present Perfect Tense and future time "will".

Main Aims

  • To provide accuracy speaking practice in a Conversation in the context of Teenagers' Habits
  • To provide gist and scan reading practice using a text about Teenagers in the context of Change of Teenagers Throughout Time

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Greet SS and ask them to look at the quotation on the handout. Ask their ideas about teenagers and ask them to write 3 things about teenagers.

Exposure (6-8 minutes) • To provide a model of the task and highlight useful words and phrases

T asks SS to read the text very quickly and put the paragraphs into correct order. T asks them to check their answers with their partners. ICQ: will you read in detail? (no) T asks them to turn the page and check their answers with the text in the correct order. T ask SS to read the underlined sentences. T asks SS what their differences are from the previous sentences.

Task (10-12 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to clarify the structure

Ask SS to check the chart below the text. Ask them to complete the second column of the chart with the underlined sentences. Ask them to fill in the first chart with the tense names by checking the sample sentences. Tell them they are pasive sentences in which action is more importasnt than the person performing that action. Ask them to check their answers with their partners. Remind them the pairs has different charts.

Language Analysis (6-8 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the task language

Ask SS to do the exercises and check their answers with their partners. Remind them to use the chart they have filled. Elicit answers and give some pronunciation feedback.

Feedback (3-4 minutes) • To provide individual feedback by monitoring students.

Monitor SS. Check their charts and give instant feedbacks when needed.

Language Practice (5-7 minutes) • To provide students with practice of the task language

Give SS some cards in 3-people group and ask them to complete the sentences on the paper they have choosen. Monitor SS and give feedback at the end.
