  • To provide gist listening practice using a text about the media

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I am going to warm up students with a very short funny scene of Adel Imam's play. I will ask them "what do you like to watch on TV or Youtube?". " would you like to attend a live performance?". after that, ss rate Ex. 1 Instructions: • Read task 1. HO1 • Rate each phrase from 1-4 • 1 means " I never do it." • 4 means "I do it all the time." ICQs What does No. 1 stands for?

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

Pre-teach vocabulary (useful language) 1. Help ss to elicit the meaning of costumes and lyrics. 2. Use pictures and explanation CCQs Are you wearing a costume right now? Do we call our usual speech lyrics? Exposure: 1. Pass HO2 to the ss to read before listening. 2. Play track 1 and let ss to answer the questions 3. Play track 2 and let ss to answer the questions 4. Play track 3 and let ss to answer the questions 5. Ss check their answers in pairs Feedback: hand student a key answer. Post-listening task: • Ask students : o Have seen /read /listened to any of these things? o Do you agree with the speakers? o Would you like to see/ read/listen to them?

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

1. Pass HO2 to students to put the scraps in the right group 2. Elicit the difference between describing a thing or give an opinion • CCQs • " I am a teacher" description or opinion? • "you are a smart student" description or opinion? 3. Project the answers. 4. Go back to HO1 and choose one of the things you like.

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Prepare yourself. Ss discuss what they have selected in pairs.

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

I will collect some well-structured sentences to write them on the whiteboard. Besides, I am going to correct some sentences.
