To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of travelling
Procedure (34-45 minutes)
Set the context by asking SS if they have ever entered a competition. Ask them which competitions they know.
Use visual aids and repeat the target vocabulary. Contextualize it by giving CCQs: -Did you win a prize? -What prize did you win? etc
I show adjective flashcards. SS do the choral drilling. SS match the words to the pictures. Then they do a word search puzzle. After that, they categorize the adjectives and give examples of them in phrases.
SS look at the title of the article. Then they read the first paragraph. I ask CCQs about it.
I divide the class into groups A and B. I get As to read about Bruce and Bs about Sally. Then get SS to ask and answer the questions for this text with each other.
Get SS to talk about their traveling experience. Lead them with the written questions on the board: -Where did you go? -What did you do? -What did you like there? etc. SS work in pairs
