In this lesson students are going to read a reading about favorite times.The lesson starts with topic question and followed by jigsaw reading and then they guess highlighted new words .Then we will go thorough listening.And wrap up this lesson with two pictures as post reading and listenig.

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification of reading & listening and work on new words.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide a situation for students to speak and work on speaking.


Warmer/lead in (6 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students.

I will start the lesson with a topic question on the board and they will discussed it in their group to engage them in speaking.(Whats your favorite time of the day?whats your favorite season?why).Then we will give a feedback on whole class .

pre-reading (16 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible.

Preteach vocabulary and phrases of reading (depress,short of money,resolution,Early)Work on pronunciation and form of the word and drill whole class and some students.Then I will give them 5min to make sentences with new words( CCQ).Then they will have 3min to skim the text and answer the question of part a in student book.then they compare with partner in 1min and we will check answers.A question about reading will be witten on the board and discuss in whole class(Do think this days are the most happiest and depressing in our country?which days are " " if not?)

While-reading#1 (5 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading tasks.

We will work on part b page 46.I must be careful of clear instruction and ICQ.First they should work on this part indivisually in 3min then compare with partner for 1 min .we will check answer in class.

While-reading#2 (11 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed,deduction and inference reading tasks.

We will work on part C page 46.They will go through this task in pair for 3min to guess the word .we will check in 3min.As far as students are not good at pronunciation I prefer to ask students to read the text one by one .

Post-reading (5 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they have learned.

I will show two pictures to student and ask them which place you prefer to go for traveling and why ?(it will be related to Favorite times).They will discuss this in group for 3min and give a feedback to whole class in 2 min.
