Description

Lesson starts with some pictures about Planet earth and the problem we have to involve SS to the topic then Students should listen to an interview with Dr Scott about his book which predicts the world in 2030 in following should find out what Dr Scott said generally about planet earth then there is another practice, students should correct the wrong sentences which Dr Scott said.at the end Students should discuss the topic with some controlled question or can add more questions to be discussed.

Main Aims

  • Listening,To provide specific information, deduction, detailed and inference listening practice using a text about Planet Earth in the context of Global warming, Climate changes, population

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a Discussion in the context of Global warming, Climate changes, population etc.

Procedure

Lead-in (5-8 minutes) • To engage students to the topic

It starts with some pictures to introduce the new vocabulary which is about a crowded planet called Planet Earth, SS will know the meaning of Global warming, population, reduce pollution etc, to discuss and find some solution.

Listening (6-10 minutes) • To prepare students for the listening

It's an interview with Dr Scott, SS should find out which topic he talked about and tick the prepared topics

Post listening (3-5 minutes) • To check their answer

To listen again and check their answers. afterwards SS can check their answers with the answer key

Listening (7-10 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference listening tasks

Students listen to correct the false prepared sentences and share their answer together as a pair or group work, finally with the key answer SS check their answers to correct that

Speaking (10-12 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the listening and expand on what they've learned

In this case, Students will be paired to discuss with some controlled questions to ask each other about the topic which is A crowded planet to propose their likely answers, Finally, SS will be asked to remember their partner answer and share with the class.
