Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5-8 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students by activating their schemata

Pre-Reading (5-10 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

While-Reading (11-16 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading tasks

Ss are asked to read the text and answer HO-1 Ss are asked to work in pairs to compare and justify their answers T monitors T gets WCFB and asks for further justifications

While-Reading (16-21 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading tasks

Ss are asked to read the text and answer HO-2 Ss are asked to work in pairs to compare and justify their answers T monitors T gets WCFB and asks for further justifications

Post-Reading (15-20 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Ss work in groups Ss are given a piece of paper with either: (e-eye system) or (e-ear system) Ss have to draw a simple drawing of it and come up with advantages of having that system and state some of the similarities with the biological eye and ear Ss have gallery discussion about their ideas T monitors In the end, Ss vote for the best project
