Description

In this lessson students will learn the difference between synonyms and antonyms. By the end of this lesson students should be able to give synonyms and antonyms for words in a piece of text thats they will read.

Materials

Main Aims

Sudents will understand and be able to differentiate the difference between synonyms and antonyms

Subsidiary Aims

Students will learn some new vocabulary theoughout this lesson

Procedure (15-20 minutes)

Lesson Plan Synonyms & Antonyms (15-20 minutes) • Students be able to differentiate them and learn some new vocabulary words

1. I will put the words synonyms and antonyms on the board and get definitions off students to what they think they mean. 2. I will then look up a proper definition of the words and students will write it into their copy. 3.We will go to www.wordsmyth.org and find some words 4. We will try make some synonyms for the words and then will go on to thesaurus.com and get more. 5. We will do a handout on Synonyms and antonyms 6. We will read some text and underline words as we go 7. Once finished reading we will change to underlined words to antonyms in our copy
