Main Aims

  • To provide product writing practice of a Story in the context of Fictional and fantasy stories.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide gist reading practice using a text about of the story- The Messenger.

Procedure

Pre-Reading/Listening • To set uo a wamer befor the main session.

First I will ask the students that 'Do they like stories'? To their reply I will move ahead by asking them "what kind of stories do they like"? this will set up the context the session.

Warmer/Lead-in (1-2 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will ask the students that do they like stories? After they have replied, I will what kind of stories do they like? This will build up the context of the lesson.

Exposure- Introduce them with the story title. (2-3 minutes) • To discuss further about the story.

Show them slide 2 at this stage. Discuss about Tenali Rama, who was he?

Narration of the Story. (7-8 minutes) • To familiarise the students with the gist of the story.

Show them the pictures of your slide to narrate the story.

Student Activity (6-8 minutes) • To set out the clear instructions for the story making

Give short but clear instructions to the students about what they have to do in the upcoming session. Give them the handouts at this stage.

Purposeful Monitoring (3-5 minutes) • Give a brief of instructions to the students as to what they need to do.

Monitor the students as what are they doing? See if they have understood everything or not.

Feedback Stage (6-8 minutes) • To clarify the different factors of making a story.

Ask them to give some output. Discuss it in class.
