Main Aims

  • To provide speaking skills in a debate in the context of " love your neighbours "

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide practice of verb phrases in the context of "love your neighbours ? "

Procedure

lead in (3-5 minutes) • to generate interes in the topic of " neighbours from hell"

show Ss trailer video of neighbor from hell game .ask them if they know this game , have you ever played it when you was a child? have you ever do something like that with your neighbours ?

pre- teach vocabulary (5-10 minutes) • to prevent Ls bloking on unkown vocabulary in reading and listning

get student know the meaning and pronunciation of new vocabulary (bark , argue , upstairs ,downstairs ,musical instruments ) .use (ECDW methods ) eliciting the meaning by show them pictures and cc questions and drilling finally write the word on the board.

reading for gist (2-3 minutes) • to know the mean idea of the context

ask student to read the passage quickly .

controlled practice (3-5 minutes) • to provide practice of the new vocabulary

student going to read the passage then complete eight sentences with verbs

feedback (2-3 minutes) • to make student sure with their answer

ask students to check their answer in pairs then give them my feedback

speaking (5-10 minutes) • to give Ss time to speak

divide Ss in pairs then ask students answer 9 questions in exercise b and add more information .

useful language (2-3 minutes) • to repear Ss to do next speaking task

remind Ss with question what 's he doing? answer: he is (v+ing)

speaking (3-5 minutes) • to provide more speaking

Ss going to do exercise (f) in groups using the useful language :what,s he doing ?

feedback (2-2 minutes) • to enable Ls to check the right answer

check Ss answers with the whole class

freer practise (3-5 minutes) • to provide more oral fluence on speaking

get Ss to do exercise h and divide into (a,b) firstly,( a) explain the picture and (b) try to found 4 different between what (a) say and what he see in the picture . then move to the next picture and do the same thing but with (b) then compare the answers .

feedback • to enable Ls to check the right answer

check the answer with whole class
