in this lesson, students are going to learn some vocabulary about amazing days and they're going to discuss their own amazing days and this lesson is a pre-teach for simple past that they are going to learn.

Main Aims

  • To provide gist and detailed reading practice using a text about good memories in the context of amazing days

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide gist listening practice using a text about good memories in the context of amazing days

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To activate ss existing knowledge of the topic and encourage them to think about context

1-I will show them some pictures of amazing days and ask some questions about the pictures and then I will ask them to discuss the pictures in pairs and then I will take feedback. students would discuss whether they have amazing days in turkey

Pre-Reading/Listening (6-8 minutes) • To pre-teach some vocabulay the may need when theyre reading the reading part

1-i will project some pictures on the board which is a matching activity and they're going to match the definitions with pictures. 2-i will ask them to check their answers with their partners and then the early finishers will go to the board and match the items.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (6-8 minutes) • To encourage ss to read or listen for general understanding and get an overview of the text

1-I'm going to regroup ss to three groups and ask them to listen to the listening part and elicit what was the amazing day of the each person that they have in their writing. im going to give one copy to each group. 2-i will ask students to discuss with each other and then I will ask the same question from each group

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

1- I will ask students to read all three speakers letter and then answer the questions in handout three. I will elicit the answers from students before that they had discussed the answers with each other.

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

1- I will project three questions about the text and then I will regroup them and ask them to discuss their answers in their groups. 2- I will ask some ideas from each group to give feedback and elicit their own ideas about amazing days
