Main Aims

  • To provide clarification, review and practice of 3rd conditionals in the context of speculate about the past

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency and accuracy speaking practice in a conversation in the context of timeline of your life
  • To provide gist listening practice using a text about what happened after each situation in the context of how the things change

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

-Ss discuss together "if you had a chance what would you change your life" -open class -AND ENGAGE Ss attention on a text

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

ask students to underline from the text sentences with IF FEEDBACK: Ss write the example on the board.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

write the target sentences and elicit meaning form by using CCQ DRILL the pronunciation

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice
