To provide detailed reading practice using a text about clothes taste in the context of fashion
To provide review of dressing words in the context of fashion
To provide accuracy speaking practice in a debate in the context of fashion
Procedure (25-42 minutes)
Teacher presents 3 headings ( clothes, shoes and accessories) and asks Sts. to think of as many words related to the headings as possible. Teacher draws some items on the WB and asks Sts to guess their initials to find out the hidden word.
Teacher shows the class some pictures, asks them to speak about each one and then to use the given key words on the board to describe each pic.. T. gives Sts some scraps ,asks them to choose which of the sentences best describes their taste in clothes.
Students are asked to work in 4 groups to skim the texts for people's names, words related to clothes. Then to find out the given word(s) or phrases said by the teacher.
Students are asked to scan each text to find which person is closest to their taste.
Students are asked to match the given words to the right word Teacher asks Sts. to write an Sms. to Sebastian Ramsay telling her whether they agree to her quot. " you can't judge a book by its cover"
