After greeting, students will see 5 pictures of 5 megacities without their names and try to come up with the names. Then they will see the names and try to put them in order of size of population in pairs in 1 minute. They listen to the audio to check their guesses,(Instructions: Listen to the audio and put the cities in order.) and then check in pairs and check it with the class orally .

In this stage, students will be given some pictures of the blocking vocabulary of the text with some words to match in pairs in 1 minute(Instructions: Match the pictures with the words in pairs.). Then they will see the same pictures on the board and tell the class the related vocabulary. CQs should be asked here and drilling will happen here. Then students will see pictures of Mumbai, Tokyo, and Mexico City and the teacher puts them in 3 different groups and in groups they start brainstorming about them. (Instructions: What do you know about these cities? In groups make some notes in 2-3 minutes.)

While-Reading (6-9 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading tasks

In their groups, they will be given the text about the city they talked about and read the text individually and very quickly(in 3 minutes) in order to do the gist reading and check their guesses about their megacity in their group in 1 minutes.

While-Reading (9-11 minutes) • To provide students with scan reading

Then each student will be given a chart made by the teacher to complete as the scan reading. First they do it individually in 4 minutes and check in their groups. Students will be regrouped and they will form groups of 3 and tell each other their information and try to take notes of what their peers say in 3 minutes. Then they will tell each other which city seems more interesting and why in 2 minutes. Then the teacher gets some feedback from random students.

Post-Reading (8-12 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to personalise the subject of this lesson

Teacher will monitor and as feedback ask one member of each team to swap places with another member in another team in order to share information and later the teacher will do the delayed error correction.
