in this lesson, students are going to learn about how to describe a place like a kitchen and they gonna have a jigsaw reading and answer some questions about it and at last, they are going to have a speaking part and they are going to describe their own kitchen.

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of food-cooking

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

1-project some photos about the context and ask them to discuss with their partners and take feedback 2-I'm going to ask them to close their eyes and imagine their own kitchen and then in pairs discuss what they had to imagine.

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

1-they are going to discuss the introduction to my kitchen at the top of page 51 and I will ask some ICQs. 2-I will take some feedback about that.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading task.

1- I'm going to give them a matching activity and teach some new words in this activity 2-the students are going to divide into three groups and each group is going to read part of the whole reading. 3- they are going to answer some questions about the text and I will let them discuss in groups and then I will take a feedback and give them answer key. 4-then I will let them discuss why are the answers correct or false

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading task.

1-in this part students are going to answer more detailed questions about the text. 2-first they are going to discuss in groups and then I will take feedback from each group 3-I will give them answer keys.

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

1-pre-teach some words that may be confusing. 2-they are going to discuss these questions and they are going to give reasons. 3-I'm going to elicit some ideas from the class. 4-I'm going to regroup them and then ask them to discuss 2 questions. 5-elicit some ideas and then take some feedbacks.
