To provide specific information and detailed listening practice using a text about objective and possessive pronouns in the context of fashion and family or preferences
To provide clarification of grammar and vocabulary regarding objective and possessive pronouns in the context of preferences
Procedure (41-49 minutes)
Show a picture of Gina. Allow students time to talk about her. Later elicit her job and basic ideas about her.
Pre-teach some vocabulary from the lesson, fashion model, fashion show, designer, model, adore, Swedish, divorced, married. Write some of these words on the board and "Ask what do you know about this topic?" including "What is your favorite city?". Use matching h/o afterwards. Group work, Peer check with new partners. Show answers.
Write on the board. "What is her favorite...city, day, designer, food". LISTEN 7.1, peer check, take FB. Pass out Listening 1 h/o and LISTEN AGAIN a second time. Ss complete gap fill. Peer check with different groups. Show answers. Do T/F
Show Ss Listening 2 question word h/o. Show they must answer fill in the blank with the question word. LISTEN TWICE. Peer-check and show answers.
Students pair up. Demonstrate the script of questions and answers. They will read the script to each other as way of interviewing each other whilst one student is Gina. Should students have extra time give them Grammar spot activity and write the chart on the board. Elicit answers whilst they fill it out.
