Procedure

Lead in • To generate interest in the topic of the lesson.

I will do presentation about birthday party on power point.

Gist task • To ensure Ls are comfortable with the text before exploiting it for language.

I will ask students to listen the audio.

Focus on meaning • To provide clarification of meaning of the TL

I ask students to listen one more time and answer the questions.

Practice • To provide practice of the TL .

I ask students to move to another exercise and ask them to listen one more time and answer the questions.

Highlight language. • To highlight the target language TL in present simple and continuous.

I will explain the tense (the difference between present simple and present continuous ) through two sentences .and I ask them to answer exercise 1 work alone then check in pairs.

Clarify language (meaning ) • To provide clarification of meaning of the TL.

I will explain (non action verb) .I tell them that some verbs cannot be used in the progressive tenses. They are called non action verbs.

Focus on meaning • To provide clarification of meaning of the TL.

I ask students to move to another exercise (exercise 2) about non action verbs .(work alone ) then check in pairs.

Practice • To provide an opportunity for LS to use the TL (I have two practice stages controlled and freer)

I ask Ss to move to exercise 3 and 4(Discuss in pairs which of the following are true for you ) and (write the names of six important people in your life )

Feedback • To praise good use of TL

I will do practice (work in groups. Ask and explain who the people are, what they do and what they are doing at the moment).
