In this lesson,students will learn how to use "so/such......that....." in order to express cause and effect.The contex will be revolving around air travel isuues,and as a result,it'll bring them to an area in which they can practice the language infused with their experience.

Main Aims

To provide clarification and practice of So/such....that...(cause and effect) in the context of Air travel issues

Subsidiary Aims

To provide product writing practice of a Report in the context of Air travel issues

Procedure (17-23 minutes)

Warmer (2-3 minutes) • To remind them of what they learned previously about two air travel stories

Exposure to two pictures on the board,projected by OHP. And having them retell the stories to me.

Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To get them drawn even more toward the context

Showing them pictures of a girl waiting for her lugagge and a very long line of passengers waiting to pass through the gate with captions saying,"It's so .... ." and "it's such a .....process." respectively.

Language clarification (5-7 minutes) • To inductively teach them the use of so/such...that... to express cause and effect

They'll be given some gap-fill handouts as well as a list of words to choose from so they will match the gaps.Then the'll be asked to discover whether They have one of these forms: so+adj , so+adv , so+Many+a Count Noun, so+much+a Non-Count Noun.The answers will be shown on the board in the end.

Controlled practice (4-5 minutes) • To apply the language they have learned into prctice

They'll be given gap-fill handouts from the student's book and instructed to complete the task accordingly.

Pre-speaking(writing) (4-5 minutes) • To prepare them for the speaking section since it builds more confidence and they can focus more on what they'll be speaking about later.

They'll be attracted to questions on the board and try to creat 4 sentences executing the language.At last,the'll have to compare their sentences with some examples on the board shown by the use of some slides.
