  • To revise job vocabulary
  • to practice controlled speaking - Yes / No questions

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5-10 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

-Ensure that the Ss name cards are ready -Elicit the question "What do you do?" Then ask the Ss to model and drill -Divide the students into two teams and give them jobs worksheets. Ask them to match the jobs to their names. -Giving the Ss answer keys as a feedback

Pre-teach the new vocabulary (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

Pre-teach the following words: -To draw (V) - In a hurry (Collocations) -Paid holiday (Collocations) -Stressful (adj) -Band (N) Ask Ss CCQ where appropriate

While-Reading (8-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading tasks

-Ask the Ss read the interview about Annabel's life and to try to match the questions with her answers. Then provide the students with an answer key as a feedback. -Ask the Ss to read it again and to underline two good and two bad things about Annabel's Life

Post-Reading (8-11 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

-Presenting 18 Yes/No questions on the projector. -Demonstrating the game "Guess my Job". -Demonstrating the rules of the game to the Ss. -Then divide the Ss into two groups and asking each one to write a job on a piece of paper.His friends in the group have to guess the job. Ss should ask minimum 5 Yes/No questions. Each student should practise the game in turn.
