in this lesson students will learn about the present simple throughout the communicative method and grammar translation. using mix and match techniques from the two methods.

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

ask students some gist questions about the text. expose students to vocabulary word that will hinder their understanding (in Arabic and English) " based on the grammar translation method" in a form in isolated list of vocabs . read a context about daily routines. Ss will be asked to answer some detailed Questions about the context.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

ask Ss to answer some CCQ eliciting from students positive and negative forms, functions and key words . write down the marker sentence on board.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Ss will be asked to elicit the rule out of the marker sentence . write down the form via projecting it on the smart board then drilling the sentence backward .

Controlled Practice (GRAMMAR TRANSATION METHOD) (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

Ss will set in pairs to do a dialogue completion . T remind students that they have five minutes to answer this exercise . T will HO and monitor their work . T will the pairs to exchange their HO for peer correction . T give the whole class feed back

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Ss will set in a groups of three ask students to make a role play about what they like to do and how often they do it and they don't like to do in their free times . give students ICQ about the exercise. write down on board the three elements their role play about it : free time. what you like to do? how often do you do it? what you don't like to do? remind students that they have to finish in time . ask each group to make a role play of their conversation.
